Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Awkward:
- when you burst out laughing after seeing your son walk head-on into a pole on the sidewalk, and this unfortunately makes him cry because you've "hurt his feelings". (Oh but it was hilarious, guys.)
- when you buy a dozen cookies at a Christmas bazaar and don't offer any to your husband or children until they notice the box the next day... at which point there is only 4 left inside.
-  when you ask your workout partner if you can switch workouts from Thursday to Wednesday this week because something's come up and she smiles funny and says, "you mean switch to our regular workout day of Wednesday?" and you realize, "oh that's right, we've NEVER worked out on Thursdays" and wonder once again what happened to your brain.
- when you burn the grilled cheese sandwiches so consistently that your children get excited when they're "mostly edible" and genuinely congratulate you. (It's the flipping that's the problem. Who's patient enough to stand still and watch for 3 minutes?)

Awesome:
- showing up to your new little part-time job to find a fat Christmas bonus waiting for you! This calls for an immediate text message to the husband with a picture and the tagline, "Shut the front door!!!!!"
- Blake's response after being told that Santa wasn't real... "yeah he is, I saw him at the mall!" So we did, son, so we did :)
- only five more school days until Christmas break!
- when you get this picture from your sister sent to you out of the blue:

Wooooo to the hoooooo!!!!! Much squealing and clapping and happy tears involved :)
