A Letter

1.11.2011

Dear husband,
I very much appreciate that you lay out your clothes
in the living room at night
so that you won't wake me when you get up for work
at the crack of early each morning,
but I'd like to request you don't lay them out quite so...

That way, when I walk out to the kitchen at 11:00 pm
without bothering to turn the lights on,
so that I can add something I just remembered we need
to the grocery list,
I won't see them out of the corner of my eye
as I walk back through the living room,
AND SCREAM AND HAVE A HEART ATTACK.

Thank you for understanding honey,
Love me.

the chair man revealed.

P.S. I think you're cute for laying them out like this.
BUT STOP.

  1. OMG! That is too funny! My husband lays out his work clothes at night too so he doesn't bother me, but, not quite that way!

  3. That totally would have freaked me out too... of course lesser things have been known to frighten me - like walking up to Nofziger's back door with their light off and the way their cover for their Traeger was draped combined with shadows I could have swore there was a homeless man crouching in the corner of their patio... I'm pretty sure I screamed and ran there too!

  5. I totally get this. I probably would have jumped out of my skin. The other night I called my neighbor because I heard a crash in my house and couldn't figure out where it came from. It turned out the shelf thing that hangs in our shower had fallen down.

  6. Reminds me of the "fake man in the bed" trick I use to pull on Cara. First, stuff the bed up so it looks like I was in it, then when she walks close to the bed, grab her leg from under the bed and listen to her scream:) Works every time!
