Monday confessional

8.02.2010

Believe me when I tell you that I have an embarrassing tale or two to share from my past. Including the more recent past, as in yesterday or the day before.

I am just one of those people... I embarrass myself ALL THE TIME.

The other day I was looking at old digital photo albums on my computer and came to my sister's wedding from 5 years ago. Always fun to browse through, I stopped at this picture of the wedding party. You know, to see how I looked back then compared to now (it's what girls do).

Next I looked at the three little ring-bearers on the left (my brother-in-law's nephews) and thought how cute and little they looked, and at the little ring-bearer on the right, my son Cooper when he was only 3 years old, and thought how cute and adorable he looked, and then wondered who the little girl with the pretty ringlets was that was facing away. I thought it was funny that even though I was in the wedding I couldn't remember who one of the flower girls was so I laughed at myself before moving on, not really worrying about it.

Until two minutes later when it came to me.

It was MY ONE AND ONLY DAUGHTER.

*insert feelings of acute embarrassment here*

Dear Kendall:
when you grow up and leave one day,
please send pictures frequently,
just in case I go too long without seeing you
and FORGET WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE.
Love, Mom

  2. I just laughed so hard at this post that Hayden came running from the other room saying, "what happened mommy?" He wanted in on the action too.

I think I may have to insist that Monday Confessions become a regular item on the blog docket!

    Love it, love you!

  3. Dad read this morning's blog out to us all..after much laughter ( re: your letter to Kendall ), Dad continues to inform us that you then posted a photo of Kendall front and back so you would remember her from both sides at some later point in the future. He now knows that was yesterday's entry.. still pretty funny.
